The DJI Matrice 4TD is a robust, weather-resistant drone with IP55 certification for demanding operations. It integrates seamlessly into the DJI Dock 3 and can also be connected retroactively. As a Standalone Combo, it is supplied with the required basic accessories. Advanced sensors, long flight times and precise obstacle detection support inspection tasks, public safety applications and emergency operations.

Low-light imaging

The Matrice 4D-series features four high-resolution, light-sensitive fisheye cameras. They enable visual positioning and obstacle detection even in poor lighting conditions. The integrated night mode provides true-to-life colour images in the dark.

The Matrice 4TD supplements these functions with an optional IR-cut filter. This enables high-contrast black-and-white images at night and supports 24/7 operational readiness. An NIR auxiliary light illuminates operational areas up to 100 metres. Together with the integrated thermal imaging camera, the Matrice 4TD is suitable for infrastructure monitoring, emergency management and public safety.

Surveying and mapping

The Matrice 4D-series supports highly accurate mapping applications with oblique photography from five perspectives, as well as precise orthophoto capture in three directions and real-time terrain adaptation. Integration with DJI FlightHub 2 enables mission planning with intelligent 3D-Capture flight routes and adjustable inclined flight paths for complex surveying scenarios.

Flight time and protection

The Matrice 4D/4TD achieve a maximum flight time of up to 47 minutes with a fully charged battery at a constant speed of 15 m/s. This corresponds to an efficiency increase of around 37 % compared with previous models. With an active operating radius of 10 kilometres, the effective flight time is 18 minutes.

Both drone models are classified according to IP55 standards. This protects them against dust and powerful water jets and makes them suitable for operation under demanding environmental conditions.

Obstacle detection and navigation

The collision avoidance system of the Matrice 4D/4TD combines rotating LiDAR scanners with millimetre-wave radar technology. This enables the detection of obstacles, including thin wires, even at flight speeds of up to 15 m/s. The fusion of sensor data supports stable navigation in complex or poorly lit operating areas, for example during power line inspections.

Air relay function for inaccessible terrain

The Matrice 4D-series supports standalone operation with the DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise remote controller and also offers an air relay function. In this setup, one drone can act as a relay station in the air, allowing a second drone to be controlled over greater distances. The relay drone automatically aligns its position and antenna orientation with the operating drone. This supports video transmission even without a 4G signal or in areas with blocked signals.

The function is suitable for search and rescue operations (SAR) as well as technical inspections in inaccessible terrain.
